Having a heat and smoke detector in your home is extremely important and even necessary. Protect yourself, your home, and others using the alpina Smart home heat and smoke detector. This smart wifi smoke detector alerts you when heat or smoke is detected in a room. The smart smoke detector then produces a loud 85 decibel alarm that requires immediate action. You can also receive an alarm when you are away from home when you connect the heat detector with the alpina Smart home app. The alpina Smart home smoke and heat detector is made to alarm you when smoke is formed and temperatures rise quickly in a room. The smoke detector can detect smoke from 0.108 to 0.141 dB/m and is heat-sensitive for temperatures from 54 to 70 degrees Celsius. As soon as the detector senses smoke or heat, it produces a loud alarm of up to 85 decibels at a distance of three metres. Even when you are away from home, it is useful to know whether the heat and smoke detector in your home has triggered. Fortunately, this is easily done via the alpina Smart home app. Once you have installed the app on your smartphone, click on the plus icon in the application and then select 'smoke alarm'. Confirm that the indicator light flashes quickly, enter the wifi password and confirm. To pair the smoke detector, press the button in the middle 3 times within 2 seconds. The detector is now connected to the alpina Smart home app and you receive push notifications when heat and/or smoke is detected. The alpina Smart home heat and smoke detector is a photoelectric device. This means that it is powered by two 1.5V alkaline (AA) batteries. Photoelectric technology is more sensitive for detecting smouldering fires. These are fires that produce thick, black smoke with very little heat. Such fires can smoulder for hours before they ignite and are therefore very dangerous. Smoke detectors should be installed in every room in the house except the bathroom. Make sure that the people in the house can always hear the sound of the alarm and can therefore react to it. For minimum protection, install smoke detectors at least in the hallway between living rooms and bedrooms. Place the smoke and heat detector as close to the living areas as possible and make sure that the alarm can be heard in the bedroom. You can mount the smoke detector on the wall or the ceiling. Ensure that the smoke and heat detector is placed at a distance from corners. Please refer to the user's manual for details. To mount the heat detector on the wall or ceiling, mark two screw holes with a pencil. Then drill two holes in these places using an electric drill. After this, you can fix the smoke detector with two plastic plugs. When the alpine Smart Home heat and smoke alarm sounds an alarm, it can be paused for about 10 minutes by pressing the test button. The red LED light will then flash every 8 seconds to indicate that the smoke alarm is in silent mode. This silent mode should only be activated when the detector has been triggered by a known cause such as smoke. The heat detector resets after approximately 10 minutes. If combustion particles are still present after 10 minutes, the alarm will go off again. In this case, repeat the same steps until the alarm stops. The red indicator light flashes once every 40 seconds to show that the smoke detector is working properly. If the detector is defective or the battery is flat, the heat detector will beep every 40 seconds.
