Aqua-Guard is a flexible water-based polyurethane coating preventing the penetration of water through the roof surface in all weather conditions. Intended for sealing of rooms subject to humidity as well balconies (the material is not suitable for application on tiles). Aqua-Guard is highly durable to any weather conditions, UV-radiation and prevents accumulation of dust and dirt. Due to its elasticity, the material covers and prevents the appearance of hairline cracks in the roof surface. After drying creates thick white polyurethane coat resistant to standing water, reflecting the UV-radiation and preventing the building from warming up. Surface Preparation: Prepare the roof thoroughly before application. Remove any unfirmly attached paints and clean from dirt. Rinse the surface while using a highway broom. Use a mortar to scrape bulging and loose areas. After rinsing, make sure that all the water drains away and no areas covered with water remain. Once dry, fill wide cracks with an acrylic sealant such as Niroseal (Silicon). Wait another 24 hours to let the surface completely dry. Aqua-Guard can be applied on bitumen sheets 30 days after it has been applied. Application: In the summer time it is advised to apply early in the morning before the surface heats up. Apply Aqua-Guard in 2 coats with a total weight of 1.5 Kg per m². The first coat serves as a primer and needs to be diluted with 30 % water. The second coat can be applied without dilution. Spread the material by a roller along the surface, use a brush on sides and corners. Wait at least 24 hours before second coat and apply it in the same way. Dilution: dilute the first layer with 30 % water, second with 5-10%. Drying time: To recoat: 24 hours. Full cure: 7 days. Gloss level: Matt. Application temperature: 5 -35 Cº. Colour: White, can be tinted in pastel shades. Recommended Spread Rate*: 1.3 -1.6 Kg/m² * The spread rate is calculated according to the work of a skilled laborer on a surface with an ordinary degree of absorption and may vary according to the working method, surface and weather conditions. Clean-up: Wash hands and tools with water and soap immediately after use.
