For several years, ornamental grasses have gained a respectable place in gardens. Many landscape architects, precisely because they are scenographic plants, easily adaptable, extremely simple to grow and colorful in all seasons of the year, have begun to use them in their projects. Ornamental grasses can be used to great effect in our gardens: from toning down the great exuberance of more showy flowering plants, to being the focal point of the whole scene. It is possible to choose between grasses for wet or dry, shady and sunny soils. Many are ideal for rockeries, large area planting, natural landscape gardens and are great additions to the cut flower garden. Still others are well suited for growing in containers.
