A good temperature and humidity level in the house is very important. Dry and too humid air can cause all kinds of health problems and mould in the house. And an unstable temperature contributes to high energy bills. It is therefore important that you keep an eye on both with the help of the alpina Smart home climate and humidity meter. The hygrometer measures temperatures from -20 to maximum 60 degrees Celsius and humidity from 0-100% RH. Connect the Zigbee thermometer to the alpina Smart home app to receive notifications when something changes in the temperature or humidity in the house. NOTE: The climate and humidity meter can only be used in combination with the Zigbee Gateway. RH stands for Relative Humidity and measures the amount of water in vapour form in the air indoors. The alpina Smart home humidity meter, also known as a hygrometer, measures humidity in the home from 0-100% RH. The ideal humidity level in the home is between 40-60% RH. Both an environment which is too dry and too humid is not good for your health. Breathing dry air is not only hard and unpleasant, it also causes chapped lips, dry or burning eyes, coughing and headaches. If the humidity level is too high, mould can develop, which in turn can also cause health problems. Besides a hygrometer, this smart sensor also measures the temperature in a room. By monitoring the temperature in your home and keeping it constant, you can drastically save on your energy bill, among other things. Heating up a cold room costs more energy than keeping the temperature constant. The alpina Smart home temperature gauge measures temperatures from -20 to 60 degrees Celsius. When the temperature in the house changes, you will receive a push notification in the alpina Smart home app. When the temperature or humidity changes in the vicinity of the sensor you can receive a notification on your phone. You will need the alpina Smart home app for this. You can easily download the app for Android in the Google Play store and for iOS in the Apple Store. To connect the Zigbee climate and humidity sensor to the alpina Smart home app, select the option 'add sub-device' in the app. Press and hold the reset button on the sensor for at least 5 seconds until the indicator light comes on. Once the installation is complete you can start using the sensor. In the alpina Smart home app, if you have several sensors, you can give each sensor a name and hang them in different rooms. Because the climate and humidity meter cannot connect to your wifi network independently, you can only use the sensor in combination with the Zigbee Gateway. Within the alpina Smart home line, several products can be connected with each other. Think of the window or door sensor, the climate sensor, the motion alarm and the vibration sensor. This all takes place via the separately purchased Zigbee Gateway. This Zigbee Gateway connects up to 50 different alpina Smart home devices together, allowing them to communicate with each other. The operation and settings of each device, including the Zigbee Gateway, can be edited with the alpina Smart home app.
