Teaberry is a plant in the blueberry family. Grows in moist, organically enriched, well-drained soil. The leaves and fruits produce an oil that is used as a medicine, as well as in candy and chewing gum. The seeds of the bright red fruit are a source of food for a pet and small animals. The fruit persists through winter and is one of the few sources of green leaves in winter and in some localities is a major winter food.
