Even though weight discs look like a simple product, they are actually a bit more complicated. The process of their production, in order to get a very good result, is difficult and complex, while the quality varies considerably from disc to disc. We will try to analyze the process and what the customer should pay attention to before making the purchase. One of the first things that makes a difference in a disc is the thickness. The reason is that cast iron is a mixture of iron and carbon. The thicker the disc, the less iron the mixture has, so the cheaper the product, but also the worse in quality. In good discs, the weight can vary by +/- 5%. In case the quality of the disc is higher and the quality of the factory process is not good. The color of the disk also plays a key role. After many treatment and coloring processes, if the final color is not excellent, the quality of the paint is poor and this leads to premature rusting. A good disk contains all the above processes. The rubber coating of the disc makes it easy to protect it from external agents, does not damage the surface of the floor where we train and eliminates noise.
