Cotoneaster is very easy plant to grow in virtually any location. Plant in ordinary, well drained soil. Tolerates drought, but looks best with regular watering. Can prune it as needed. Looks great at the edge of a border or planted next to taller trees or shrubs. Flowering is not guaranteed so this shrub is grown mainly for its foliage. If it does bloom, small white flowers will appear followed by red berries. Foliage turns rich red in the fall.
